1. Introduction

Valerio ("Valerio," "we," "us," or "our") provides a relationship-intelligence application that helps you remember details about the people in your life and reconnect with them at the right moments (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. Account details (name, email, password), billing information (handled by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers ourselves), and any content you choose to enter about the people in your life: names, notes, preferences, dates, conversation history, and similar details ("Relationship Data").

Information about the people you tell us about. Because Valerio is built to help you remember details about your contacts, the Relationship Data you enter may include personal information about other individuals who are not Valerio users themselves. You're responsible for having a reasonable basis to share this information — for example, something a friend told you directly — and for not entering sensitive categories of data (health information, financial account numbers, government ID numbers) about yourself or others.

Usage and device data. Pages visited, features used, browser and device type, IP address, and similar diagnostic information, collected automatically.

3. How We Use Information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service, including AI Memory, Conversation Suggestions, Smart Reminders, and Timeline.
• To generate the reminders and conversation prompts the Service is built around.
• To process payments and manage your subscription.
• To communicate with you about your account, updates, and — if you opt in — product news.
• To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

4. How AI Processes Your Data

Certain features (AI Memory, Conversation Suggestions) use automated processing, including large language models, to analyze the Relationship Data you enter and generate suggestions. Whisper from OpenAI is a model we use for transcription which don't store your data, Gemini from Google is used for other AI functionalities such as but not limited to generate the sum-ups of your conversations.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers who host our infrastructure, process payments, send email, or provide the AI processing described above, under contracts that limit their use of your data to providing these services.
• Law enforcement or other parties when required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Valerio, our users, or others.
• A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and Relationship Data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion at any time — see Section 7.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@myvalerio.com. You can also delete individual entries, or your entire account, directly within the Service at any time.

8. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect some features.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Data Transfers

Because Valerio's infrastructure and service providers may be located outside your country, your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries that may have different data protection laws than your own — including countries that have not been deemed to provide an adequate level of protection by your local data protection authority. Where this happens, we rely on legally recognized transfer mechanisms, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, an applicable adequacy decision, or another valid safeguard, to protect your information wherever it is processed.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice such as an email or in-app notification.
